What were the Bible authors like?
Were they just trying to make money?
Were they seeking influence and power over other people?

Absolutely not.
With an honest examination of the lives of these men,
you find the complete opposite.
(II Peter 1:21)

II Peter 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

  • Holy, or serious men

  • Sound minds and good reputations

  • They were not made wealthy by their prophecies.

In fact, most of the authors were made poor and were savagely persecuted and murdered. They were not inspired by covetousness and worldly benefits.

Consider Moses, who wrote the first five books. Having been raised in a palace in Egypt, he sacrificed luxury for a life of outstanding hardship. This was a choice made by many of the Bible writers.

All of these men claimed that God had spoken His word to them. Their lives, testimonies and deaths gave evidence that they were truthful.
